One of the earliest known celebrations of New Year can be traced back to ancient Babylon around 4,000 years ago. The Babylonians celebrated the New Year during the vernal equinox, around the time of the spring harvest. Their festivities lasted for eleven days, involving religious rituals, feasts, and cultural events. Similarly, in ancient Egypt, the New Year coincided with the flooding of the Nile River, symbolizing rebirth and new beginnings.
