Mike's jourcney from the dinner plate to unexpected fame is a quirky chapter in the annals of poultry history. The story begins on a seemingly ordinary day when Farmer Lloyd Olsen had a rather grim plan for a young chicken named Mike. Intent on preparing a delicious dinner with his wife, Lloyd raised his ax to deliver the fatal blow. However, fate had other plans, and the swing of the ax wasn't quite perfect. Instead of a clean decapitation, the blow missed the chicken's jugular vein and most of the brain stem. In a bizarre twist of events, Mike was anything but a typical headless chicken. Miraculously, he didn't succumb to the decapitation. He emerged from the ordeal still alive, though missing a crucial part of his anatomy.
